What is HeroBrowser?
HeroBrowser is a free browser RPG: a pixel art auto battler dungeon crawler that runs in your web browser with no download. A god summons your soul into a hero vessel and sends it down a dungeon of one hundred floors. Combat is automatic. You make the decisions between fights: gold upgrades, gear, skills, and talents.
Is HeroBrowser an RPG?
Yes. HeroBrowser is a role playing game built on an auto battler combat model. You choose one of 6 hero classes, level it up, and build it with gear, skills, talents, runes, and loot across a hundred floor dungeon. The one difference from a traditional RPG is that you do not issue commands during a fight: combat resolves on its own, and every decision you make happens between fights.
Is HeroBrowser free to play?
Yes. HeroBrowser is free and plays instantly in the browser, with no install and no download. One premium hero and an optional player trading market exist, but no purchase is needed to reach floor 100.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Guest mode starts immediately, saves your progress in your browser, and plays Normal difficulty. Signing in with Google or an email account stores your save on the server, lets you continue on any device, places you on the leaderboard, and unlocks the deeper difficulty tiers: Hard, Nightmare, and Infernal.
Which classes can I play?
HeroBrowser has 6 playable classes. 5 are free (Knight, Mage, Healer, Archer, Samurai); Brakkar the Berserker is a premium class.
What happens when my hero dies?
A defeat sends you back to floor 1. Permanent upgrades and talents carry over, so every new run starts stronger. In the optional Hardcore mode a defeat also destroys your equipped gear.
How are the 100 floors structured?
Every 10th floor is a boss fight, and each act hides a guardian miniboss partway through. The biome changes roughly every ten floors; see Biomes & Floors for the full structure. Deeper acts throw more enemy waves per floor.
Does HeroBrowser have difficulty modes?
Yes, four: Normal, Hard, Nightmare, and Infernal. Guest accounts are limited to Normal; signing in unlocks the rest. Clearing floor 100 on a tier only unlocks the next one as selectable, it never switches you into it: Hard unlocks when you clear floor 100 on Normal and Nightmare when you clear it on Hard, but you always pick your active tier yourself from the Portal. Infernal is the endgame tier: it needs a Nightmare floor 100 clear, mythic-or-better gear in every slot, and a completed Rebirth, and in exchange it swaps in six new biomes, rare-and-up loot only, and Abraxion waiting on floor 100.
How do I make my gear stronger in HeroBrowser?
Salvage gear you no longer need into Arcanite, then spend that Arcanite plus gold at the forge. Each of your seven equipment slots has its own forge level, up to +20. The level belongs to the slot rather than the item, so it survives every gear swap. Forging only adds flat Attack, Magic, Defense, HP, and Resistance; it never changes percentage stats such as crit chance or lifesteal. See The Forge for the full cost ladder.
What is Radiant Tempering?
Radiant Tempering is the endgame tier of the forge, covering levels +21 to +20. Those levels cost Radiant Arcanite only, no lesser tier is accepted, and their gold price is far above the standard curve. Each tempered level also grants 100 percent of a normal level's bonus, so it is surplus progression for players with a deep-run surplus rather than a new power baseline.
What is the best rarity of item in HeroBrowser?
Divine is the rarest and strongest tier. Above legendary sit three apex tiers: cursed, mythic, and divine. Cursed and divine can only ever drop, from boss and guardian kills, and can never be bought or crafted. Mythic drops the same way, but it also has one forged path: once Nightmare is unlocked, the Cube can mint a mythic through its Ascension recipe. Cursed relics pair a powerful upside with a real drawback and only one can be worn at a time. Legendary is the highest rarity the shop can stock and the Cube's ordinary fusion can reach; see Items for every piece.
What are Vows?
Vows are an optional standing pledge you can seal before any descent, trading a restriction for a reward. 36 trade vows pair a restriction with a real combat bonus, and 12 Ordeals give up a bonus entirely in exchange for richer loot instead. Nothing about them is required to clear the dungeon; see Vows & Ordeals for the full list.
Why did my vow get skipped?
A pledged vow is skipped at the start of a descent, rather than sealed, when your currently equipped gear already violates its restriction, such as an empty-slot vow with something equipped in that slot. It stays pledged and will try again on your next descent, so unequip the conflicting item first if you want it active this run. See Vows & Ordeals for how sealing works.
Do broken vows still pay?
No. Breaking a vow's restriction forfeits its bonus and its loot weight for the rest of the run, and applies a lasting scar of 30% less Max HP until your next wipe or fresh descent. See Vows & Ordeals for the full break-scar table.
Can I play HeroBrowser on my phone?
Yes. HeroBrowser is designed portrait first for phones and runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser. The same save follows you across devices when you sign in.
How do I earn Red Diamonds?
Red Diamonds are earned for free. Finite, one-time milestones pay out for boss and guardian floor clears, floor 100 clears, and Hardcore titles, and two daily faucets top that up: 10 for clearing all three of the day's Daily Quests, plus 2 per boss or guardian kill for your first 20 such kills each day. The two daily faucets cap at 50 Red Diamonds per day; see Progression for the full milestone list.
Can I convert Gold Diamonds into Red Diamonds?
Yes, one for one, from the market's Buy tab or the in-game menu. The conversion only runs in that direction: Gold Diamonds (HeroBrowser's premium, purchased currency) can become Red Diamonds (the free, earned currency), but Red Diamonds can never turn back into Gold Diamonds.
How do I get hero skins?
From the "Skins" entry on your hero's Equip tab. Each class has two, both direct buys with no chance involved: the Red Hunter skin costs 2000 Red Diamonds, and the Summer skin costs 700 Gold Diamonds.
Do skins give any advantage?
No. Skins only change how your hero looks. They carry no stat bonus and no effect on combat whatsoever, on any class.
Does HeroBrowser have an ending?
Yes. The first time you clear floor 100 on Normal difficulty, a story cutscene plays, followed by a one-time New Game Plus choice: descend again on Hard, or stay on Normal. It plays exactly once per account; a later floor 100 clear, on Normal or any other tier, never triggers it again.
Can I give items to other players, or sell them for real money?
Yes to both, within limits. Any piece of gear in your bag can be sent to another player: enter their Invite code (found under Settings, Invite a Friend), confirm, and it lands in their mailbox. You can recall it until they claim it. Selling an item to another player for real money outside the game is allowed, but entirely at your own risk: HeroBrowser is not part of that deal, cannot verify payment, and will not reverse a claimed gift or refund either side. Is my account and my data secure?
Signing in, with Google or with an email and password, gives your browser a session that lasts 14 days; HeroBrowser does not use cookies for this. Signing out removes that session from the device you signed out on. A password reset link always arrives by email, and we never ask for your password anywhere else. Playing as a guest keeps your entire save on your own device only; it is never uploaded to our servers. To report a security problem, see /.well-known/security.txt for how to reach us.
