A temple healer who followed the champions down, Sister Liria refused to abandon the wounded even as the floors closed around them. Her light held death at bay long after hope was gone, until at last it guttered out on the stones. Reborn in her legacy, you will carry a gentle fire that refuses to go dark.

Sister Liria was never asked to descend. The champions marching past her temple did not slow down for a healer with no sword, so she followed anyway, three steps behind, telling herself she would turn back at the first real danger. She never did turn back. Not once, all the way down.

There was one soldier she stayed with past the point where staying meant anything, past the point where the others had already gone on ahead. She held his hand until the light left it, and told no one afterward, because grief was not a thing the champions had room to carry, and she had decided to carry it for them.

By the time the floors had swallowed a dozen champions she had stopped praying to anything with a name, and started simply doing the work prayer used to stand in for. She never told the god this.
